A DECADE OF DIFFERENCE
During our first decade, Neighborhood Allies has championed transformative and equitable community change in the Pittsburgh region by providing strategic funding, public programming, capacity building, and forging high-impact partnerships with community partners.
Since 2014, our investments have leveraged over $55 million into our neighborhoods. Here’s a snapshot of a decade of difference:

Intro Programs & Initiatives
Over the last 10 years, we’ve made significant progress toward our mission of creating thriving, resilient, and just communities.
We have successfully fostered economic mobility through two key initiatives: the Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) and the Financial Empowerment Center (FEC). Together, these centers served over 6,500 clients and achieved 6,491 positive outcomes. Additionally, we launched the Digital Inclusion Program in late 2019, which was well-positioned to pivot in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program worked to bridge the digital divide through technology access, digital literacy training, and workforce development. It provided over 5,000 supports in the form of internet access, laptops, or hotspots across the region. Beyond these efforts–to truly engage individuals with the tools, resources, and knowledge to achieve financial stability–Neighborhood Allies’ economic mobility programs have been leveraged by complementary initiatives that enhance financial literacy for individuals and families, improve access to banking services, and foster collaboration to drive systemic change.
Our Neighborhood Development efforts have supported a service area comprising 43 neighborhoods and municipalities, home to about 90,000 households. Since 2020, we have invested in 18 projects, via grants, guarantees, and equity totaling $4.2 Million, all in diverse and underserved areas. These financial resources have been deployed alongside interconnected efforts including small business assistance and neighborhood design and planning services to ensure that both the physical spaces and the people within them experience meaningful and lasting positive change, leveraging an additional $55 Million. In other terms, for every $1 of Neighborhood Allies’ real estate investment, an additional $13 has been generated from other civic and private sources.
We also made great strides in Building Capacity through funding and community partnerships, with $9,770,260 invested in 166 organizations, and supplemented with small grant programs such as Love My Neighbor!, which supported 234 resident-led projects and the work of 1,395 residents supporting their neighborhoods.
We could not have done it without YOU!
