2023 was a year of implementation and impact. We strengthened our programs from the inside out and built upon long-term partnerships to make progress towards our north star goal of moving 100,000 low-income Pittsburghers up the socio-economic ladder.
Since 2014, our investments have leveraged over $79 million into our neighborhoods, including these 2023 achievements:
Through organizational introspection and innovation, alongside insights from our board, staff, partners, and residents — In 2023, we:
Merged and integrated Omicelo Cares, a Black-led nonprofit into Neighborhood Allies portfolio of services and preserved critical community real estate development programming.
Launched or expanded community-serving programs including:
- Opened 2 Digital Inclusion Centers
- Launched a New Beams to Bridges Cohort
- Launched a Second Money Talks Cohort
- Expanded our BankOn partnerships with Allegheny County
- Hosted 7 Social Impact and Community-Led Design Processes in Community
- Expanded our Neighborhood Capital Fund
Grew and diversified our sources of funding including:

Continued implementation of our 3-Year Roadmap that reflects our best thinking about the potential and role our organization plays in transforming Pittsburgh’s communities into places of opportunity. Laid the foundation for our next 3-Year Strategic Plan and are preparing for our 10 year-celebration and impact review. We continue to make meaningful strides towards creating a stronger and more connected, empowered, and equitable community development system.
