Nearly 200 people came to Wilkinsburg on a rainy Saturday morning to see and experience the good things happening in the neighborhood, which were showcased through art, music and food. For a community that is working hard to influence the outside, often times negative, perception of their neighborhood, an event like this is truly invaluable.

Link On Penn was able to lift up all things good about the community by offering a “Passport to Wilkinsburg” which introduced attendees to local businesses and cultural organizations, and a “Listening Lounge”, which shared the stories of 50 local residents. The event also included food from local vendors, children and family activities as well as live music, which resulted in a dance party in the rain with Wilkinsburg neighbors!

Link On Penn was made possible by the generous support of Huntington Bank and Neighborhood Allies. Congratulations to LDI XXIII, Wilkinsburg CDC, The Sanctuary Project and all of the residents who partnered together to make this event a success!
